Standardization, improvement and expansion of information services of the Gorol Tourist Information Centre in Mosty u Jablunkova

The aim of the project is to create a web-based presentation for the Gorol Tourist Information Centre (GOTIC) in Mosty u Jablunkova. GOTIC is the owner of the website www.gotic.cz, which contains basic information on services, the region, events etc.

GOTIC also helps to update regional servers and works together with other information centres to provide a comprehensive range of information. The current website is not structured via a database system, and the various servers cannot be easily interlinked. The project aims to expand the GOTIC website to include a database of frequently updated information which will then be able to communicate with other servers and databases of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The expanded website will be in Czech, Polish and English. Another goal of the project is to develop the centre’s services to meet the standards of the Czech Tourism agency: extending the opening hours, providing foreign-language promotional materials, and ensuring that the information centre is well signposted.

Project period: July 2009 – February 2010.

In 2009 the project was co-funded from the budget of the Moravian-Silesian Region via the project Support for Tourist Information Centres in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The Region contributed CZK 99 900; the total project costs are CZK 111 000.
