When he was lord of the village reeve
Witness the old days in the village Mosty u Jablunkova was from 1790 dřevěnka.
A new beginning
In late 2007 and early 2008 a bold new restoration project was launched at the ‘Fojtství’. A team of architects, craftsmen and historians decided to repair the 200 year-old building, returning it to its former condition. The transformation was rapid, as master carpenters from the Polish mountain town of Zakopane worked their magic.
As time went by…
Time left its mark on the ‘Fojtství’ (the seat of the local mayor, or ‘fojt’) in Mosty. In 1960 the Szotkowski family moved out of the wooden building.
A focal point for Gorol culture, customs and information
The historic wooden ‘Fojtství’ building in the centre of Mosty u Jablunkova now houses the Gorol Tourist Information Centre (GOTIC) – an interactive centre supporting and promoting Gorol culture, customs and traditional crafts.
