The unique attractions of Kysuc in one day
From Čadca, head towards Kysucké Nové Město. Visit the Radoľa Manor. You can see several permanent exhibitions - "Bourgeois living in Kysuce", "Legacy of Cyril and Methodius tradition", "World of alchemists" and especially "The oldest history of Kysuce from the Late Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages" with exhibits such as a mammoth chair found in Kysuce, various fragments of working tools, pottery and other finds.
A surprise for all visitors is a replica of a wooly mammoth cub. After a tour of the manor, we recommend a visit to the Kysucká observatory on the opposite side of the city, where you can observe activities in the sun, walk the "Planetary Path" or see the geo-park with rocks that come from the region. You can also observe the night sky in the evenings. From Kysucké Nové Město, return to Krásno nad Kysucou, where you will find the cultural house where the Museum of National History is located. The Museum is full of plants and animals from the Kysuce region with the main attraction being a full size replica of a female wooly mammoth. After the tour, continue towards Stará Bystrica where St. Michala square is located. There you find the Slovak Astronomical Clock with its unique Astrolabe. From the square you can see the lookout tower on Bobovec hill. Continue towards Nová Bystrica, until Vychylovka, part of Chmúr, where the Vychylovka open-air Museum is located. If you visit on Sunday, between May and October, a program awaits you with demonstrations of traditional activities of everyday life in Kysučany. You can end your trip with a train ride along the Historic Forest Dead End, which is part of the open-air museum.
