Gorol Days
Since 2009, the Gorol Tourist Information Centre (GOTIC) has held an ongoing annual festival cycle called the Gorol Days. The aim of the events grouped together under the banner of the Gorol Days is to create and develop local ‘experience culture’, based on the folklore and customs of the Gorol region in the easternmost part of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Wood in the lives of the Gorol people
Wood is a material that was at the heart of Gorol life in the times of our ancestors. Without wood, they would not have had food, shelter, or flutes to play when grazing their sheep on the mountain meadows. Even today, wood is still much appreciated for its beauty and fragrance.

Gorol clothing and traditional costumes
The Gorol Day focusing on traditional clothing offers a window into the fascinating world of Gorol costumes and how they are made. Visitors can watch the manufacture of shoes, traditional Gorol waistbands, delightful lacework designs, various parts of the traditional Gorol costume, and local embroidery.

Gorol Food Day
In the past, the food of the Gorol people was frugal, dictated by the traditional way of life. The diet was not very varied, but was simple and rather repetitive. People only ate what they could find in the local environment or what they grew or bred themselves.

Honey and bee-keeping
The Gorol Honey and Bee-Keeping Day is full of the wonderful aromas of honey and beeswax and the gentle buzzing of bees. You can decorate and take home a piece of honeyed gingerbread, meet bee-keepers or learn how to make your own wax candles.
