For all of you who are interested in history of Košice-Bohumín rails and in Jablunkovské tunnels. You can buy this new and special book in our IC. Autor of the book is Mr. Vojtěch Hermann. It costs 490 crowns.

Book "Jablunkovské tunnels" is about history of tunnels on the way from previous track Košice-Bohumín and about construction of double-track tunnel.
Both of single-track tunnels were built near czech and slovak borders in 1870 to 1916. Thanks to location in difficult terrain tracks were cousing during building and upkeep during all decades considerable difficulties. The boook describes event about Jablunkovské tunnels since 19th to 21st century and it is kind of documentation character. It captures the historical evolution of Jablunkovský pass, where were both of tunnels placed. In the book you can also find description of building silesian part of Košicko-Bohumínska track in details. There is also showed in the book how it was hard to build the first tunnel. There is an interesting historical episode within the period before the outbreak of Second World War,known as Jablunkov incidents.
Book has 220 pages besides detailed history of tunnels since their creation till present.It also contains many historical photos, facsimile of building plans and another documents. In addition you will find the newest view of all railway tunnels in the Czech Republic.
