Go part of the way by bus, train or car and have a look across the border of our republic

If you wish to save a little time, get on a bus, take a train or go part of the way by car. Here are some more tips on how to plan a trip and you can also visit some areas beyond the borders of our Republic.

A trip through the three countries in the Tri-Nation Area
A further trip, which we recommend, involves an original route through three countries. It is connected with the tasting of Czech, Polish and German beer and the traditional regional specialities of all three countries, three currencies in your wallet and three languages into which the Gorol dialect is interwoven. The starting point can be, for example, Hrčava which you can reach by bus from the centre of Mosty u Jablunkova. You will come to the Tri-Nation Area (the place where the borders of three countries, the Czech Republic, Poland and the Slovak Republic, meet) after heading approximately 2 km from Hrčava along the yellow-marked trail. The green-marked hiking trail leads from the Tri-Nation Area to Jaworzynka in Poland. Continue along the green-marked trail from Jaworzynka all the way to the border with the Slovak Republic. At the border, take the blue-marked hiking track and continue via the former “Malé šance” fortifications on the Valy peak to the Slovak town of Čierne (the train stop, refreshments). The green-marked hiking track leads back to Hrčava from the stop at Čierne. Return to Mosty u Jablunkova from Hrčava by bus or you can walk from there via Gírová and Studeničná.

Our tip
As well as the Tri-Nation Area, you can also visit a wooden church dating from 1936 in Hrčava or you can refresh yourself with the water at the “Lourdes Cave” which apparently has curative effects. You will find the cave in the forest a short way from the main road leading towards Mosty u Jablunkova.

Across Hrčava to Poland and back
This is another interesting trip, if you like travelling across the border of our region. Don’t forget to put a few Zloty in your wallet along with your Czech crowns and then you can set off on the trip. Take the bus to Hrčava from the centre of Mosty u Jablunkova. Continue on foot from Hrčava along the yellow-marked hiking trail to the Tri-Nation Area. Once there, cross over the border with Poland and continue along the yellow-marked hiking trail to Jaworzynka in Poland. In Jaworzynka, take the bus to Wisła via Istebna. Go sightseeing in Wisła and then take the bus on the Wisła-Łabajów route to the ski lift which will take you to Stožek, 200m from the hiking chalet. After taking refreshments, continue along the blue and then the red-marked hiking trails to the Hotel Bahenec. Take the blue-marked trail from Bahenec through the town of Písečná all the way to the bus station in Jablunkov. The bus from platform no. 8 will take you back to Mosty u Jablunkova.

A trip around the Tri-Nation Area via Istebna
Drive through Jablunkov to Bukovec at the border crossing. The building of the former customs office now houses the “Three Nations Centre” where art lovers can admire the paintings in the Kukuczky Gallery or sit in a cosy café. Then continue into Poland, turn left at the roundabout in Jaworzynka and, after a long climb, you will come to the centre of Istebna with the main intersection. If you turn left at the intersection, you will come to the information centre and the Church of the Good Shepherd. If you go straight ahead at the intersection (in the direction of Wisła), you will be able to visit the “Ecological Training Centre” which includes an absorbing exhibition of the life in our forests. Then continue to the intersection at the petrol station, turn right and you will come to the Hotel Zagroň. There, you will find a pleasant place to sit, an indoor water park and wellness services. If you head right from the main intersection in the centre of Istebna in the direction of Koniaków, you will be able to visit the “Kurna chata Jana Kawuloka” Museum. Then continue on to the intersection and turn left along the main road to Koniaków. You will come across the “Piotr Kohut Hut” with a shop selling regional products and ewe’s milk cheese on the left-hand side after 2 km. The Lace Museum (Koronki) is almost right next to the Hut and it is almost opposite the Szance Gallery. Continue along the main road from the Hut up to the timbered Hotel Ochodzita and take a 15-minute walk up to the Ochodzita peak with a wonderful view of the region. In order to return home, continue along the road for about 3 km and turn right towards Zwardoń. There, you will enter Slovakia and then continue through Skalité, Čierne and Svrčinovec back to the Czech Republic and Mosty u Jablunkova. Further interesting tips for getting to know Istebna can be found on the municipality’s website.

Visit the point where three municipalities meet on Filipka
Take the train from Mosty u Jablunkova to Návsí and then continue from there along the yellow-marked trail to the point on Filipka where three municipalities meet: Návsí, Hrádek and Nýdek. You will have panoramic views before you. Go left from the peak to the hiking chalet. Several trails head from Filipka in all directions. We will offer you at least one of them which will take you back to Mosty u Jablunkova. Follow the green-marked trail from Filipka until you come to the “Energetika” Chalet in Hrádek. Continue from the chalet along the green-marked trail until you come to the centre of the village of Hrádek. Trains travel back to Mosty u Jablunkova from Hrádek.
